Max Bögl Receives Historic Approval for Maglev Trains in Germany
In a significant step for the future of public transportation in Germany, TSB Betriebs GmbH, a Max Bögl Group company, received the first official approval to operate public maglev railways in Europe. Granted by the Federal Railway Authority (EBA), this approval marks a decisive milestone for the introduction of an innovative, environmentally friendly local transportation solution.
It was granted in accordance with Section 5 of the General Maglev Train Act (AMbG) and is based on Max Bögl's extensive experience operating maglev trains, particularly through the successful test track in Chengdu, China. Transport System Bögl (TSB) offers an emission-free, automated solution for urban and regional transportation. TSB is currently examining possible areas of application in several German cities, including Nuremberg and Hamburg, as well as for the connection between Herrenberg and Nagold.
"This approval is a milestone for our company and a significant step toward implementing a transport revolution with innovative solutions," said Stefan Bögl, CEO of the Max Bögl Group. Stefan Dernbach, President of the Federal Railway Authority, handed over the approval to Stefan Bögl and Dr. Bert Zamzow, Managing Director of TSB Betriebs GmbH.
TSB Betriebs GmbH is currently the only company in Europe allowed to operate commercial maglev lines. Max Bögl offers TSB as a complete turnkey solution and can now act as the operator of such lines. This paves the way for planning, constructing, and operating a first application line in Germany. Thanks to the integrated, overall system approach, the planning and approval processes can be carried out efficiently, and the infrastructure can be built with modular track carriers in the shortest possible time.
